The Child Who Imagines Himself
Aesthetic Experience In Childhood and Dialogues Between Psychology and Philosophy
Keywords:

Abstract: This article proposes an articulation between aesthetic experience, imagination, and the constitution of subjectivity in childhood, based on the intersection of Gadamer's philosophy and González Rey's Theory. Considering children's literature as an aesthetic-mediating resource, the article investigates how aesthetic experience, experienced as symbolic play, mobilizes the imagination and participates in the production of subjective meanings. The research, grounded in Qualitative Epistemology, involved a 6- to 7-year-old child, monitored for ten months in a public institution. Through playful and interactive tools, narrative episodes were constructed that highlight the role of literature in the symbolic reorganization of experience, the production of meanings, and the development of subjective resources.
