This article aims to analyze contemporary slave labor in Brazil and its impacts, taking into account the vulnerabilities of people subjected to conditions analogous to slavery, noting also issues of race, gender and social class, such as the how these factors influence the recruitment of these individuals, also covering the growing number of complaints and their importance, seeking reflections and ways to combat forced labor, emphasizing that the instruments of effectiveness in this fight and the Brazilian legal system regarding this theme still are, in a way, scarce, since thousands of people are still subordinated to this reality in Brazil due to historical and social factors. It also seeks to emphasize the responsibility of the Brazilian legal system and international institutions, in the light of the principle of human dignity. A specific study to understand how this fight is carried out and so that there is an effective and pertinent confrontation with this reality that permeates through the centuries, is therefore urgent, and here we study the measures adopted by the Brazilian State to do so, as well as the application of criminal sanctions to those who commit this crime will be analyzed. The research follows the deductive method, with bibliographic research techniques
