A REFORMA DO CÓDIGO DE TRÂNSITO BRASILEIRO E A CHEGADA DE VEÍCULOS AUTÔNOMOS: A PREVISÃO DO “CONDUTOR VIRTUAL”

This article aims to address the prediction of the virtual driver in the Brazilian Transit Code
before the gap on the specification of the responsibility to be attributed in traffic accidents
involving Autonomous Vehicles. The development will analyze the historical evolution of
the internet, its impacts on society and the development of Digital Law and the constant
technological evolution in automobiles, until reaching the most recent development race
between companies that aim at mass producting and launching the world market to the
common consumer, also demonstrating a possible legal application in Brazil through the
presentation of two types of responsibilities present in our legal system. It will also demonstrate
the reasons that led to the conclusion that joint responsibility is the most beneficial to
be attributed to the results obtained by the research. The methodology used for the elaboration
of the present occurred through the survey and reading of theoretical texts related to
the research object, bringing excerpts from books, videos, interviews, journalistic articles and
statistics to the scope of the work, in order to elucidate the doubts concerning the complexity
of applying the law to the Autonomous Vehicle.
