Abstract

The Hunger Games is the first book in a trilogy written by Suzanne Collins. This book encompasses several themes present in postmodern society, such as consumerism, social inequality, technological evolution, among others. Therefore, this analysis aims to investigate the ideological and postmodern aspects of the text, based on the spaces and characteristics
of these present in the book, as well as examine the symbols that involve these elements,
in order to demonstrate that the book in question is a reflection of today›s postmodern
society. For this, a qualitative bibliographic research was performed through the literature
review of several authors. It has been found that the show society and the consumer society
are inherent in both societies.
