The pandemic that broke out in 2020 impacted contemporaneity, causing a series of reflections
in search of verification of the international cooperation model adopted by the UN/
WHO system and the effects that stood out from the individual measures adopted within a
context of sovereignty. The pandemic also brings reflections on the human influence on the
environment and the consequences that result from the environmental degradation itself,
which reverts to new pandemic forecasts. In this scenario, the globalized world questions the
international model adopted for solving pandemic problems in which only national states
are admitted as unique and exclusive managers of situations that affect everyone, and it is necessary
to admit new actors, such as subnational states, scientific and technical entities that
together to combat pandemic situations. This research is exploratory and seeks to identify
preliminary lessons from the pandemic caused by Covid-19, as well as, through the exploratory
research method, gather elements to demonstrate the non-sustainability of the model
adopted by the UN/WHO, designed for a post -war and balance of powers.
