Backlash, the social reaction due to the decisions of the Cortes and its reflections in the Brazilian political scenario of the 21st century

Abstract

The present work aims to discuss the backlash social phenomenon and analyze its consequences within the Brazilian political scenario of the 21st century. Therefore, the topic is analyzed through the following points, namely: i. The historical context of backlash in the world, and analysis of its species; ii. The recent identification of the backlash in Brazil and its mention in a joint judgment of the Federal Supreme Court; iii. And, the analysis and description of the already visible effects of the backlash in the Brazilian political scenario in recent years. The work adopted as scientific methodology, the bibliographic methodology, making use of scientific articles and books for its development. Finally, it became possible to observe through the studies carried out that Brazil has become increasingly prone to backlash effects, especially after the results of the last legislatures, a fact that cannot be ignored.
