Abstract

With the advance of migratory movements throughout the 21st century and their effects in the world, migration has been an important point of study. The present article aims to present the way in which developed countries have been dealing with the growing search to enter their borders, analyzing imposed barriers and what effects these policies have in both the origin and destiny countries. The research is structured methodologically from a qualitative bibliographic research, using sources such as scientific articles, books, dissertations and thesis, as well as news outlets and other electronic means, By the end of the article it has been made clear that the structures imposed by developed countries to control migration hurt the migrant and complicate their journey even more, benefitting only the developed country, who uses its advantageous position to enact filtering policies as a way to support their political and labor interests.
