Since 2017, UniSantos’s Observa BS group has taken a place in merging two different areas
of study (Architecture and Urbanism with Computer Science) into one research Project,
that have been already done in early stages. The Catholic’s University of Santos Socio-spatial
Observatory of Baixada Santista – Observa BS is a research group that have been researching
about urban dynamics and the social impacts, focusing on the Metropolitan Region of Baixada
Santista (RMBS in portuguese) and its nine cities. Those researches brings a key part in
the social and academic field, and the student’s needs a reliable place to store and show this
data. That is where the computer science students take part: they took the role of developers
and structured a relational database and a web-based platform that can be used to store all
this data collected by the architecture students and present it in a user-friendly interface.
This paper addresses the third stage of the Project: 1- To promote the Observa BS group and
all its productions (which will be stored on the database) and 2- To make all the data available
in the website, making it public and reachable to users. The methodology is based on bibliographic
research on the topic, discussions about the design of the website and the structuring
of the data gathered in previous steps. It is expected that Observa BS’s Digital Platform can
makes the data available, build indicators and criticize socio-spatial analysis in RMBS.
