Abstract

Neuronovel is a neologism created by the American literary critic Marco Roth, refering to a
tendency in contemporary Anglo-American literature in use psychiatric disorders as a premise.
This academic work presents the proposal of researching Neuronovel through the analysis
of the protagonist character of the novel The Silver Linings Playbook, by Matthew Quick. We
intend to reflect linguistically, semantically and stylistically which aspects are present in the
modern contemporary literature that characterize this new trend and the characteristics of
verisimilitude with postmodern society.
