Abstract

Athletes are constantly exposed to a series of physical overloads that cause morphological changes in skeletal muscle. Monitoring training intensity; Prevention and prevention of muscle injuries becomes important in the sporting scenario for both individual and team athletes. Detecting changes in skin temperature, using infrared thermography, has emerged as a safe assessment and diagnosis tool, which can, together with other resources, identify and prevent musculoskeletal injuries. In this article we review the importance of using infrared thermography as a resource for identifying and preventing injuries. In addition to the ability to monitor changes in skin blood flow patterns during and after exercise.
